PHILOSOPHY OF WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
The philosophy of the Westside High School Athletic Department is to provide the best opportunities for its student-athletes to excel in Scholarship, Sportsmanship, and Stewardship. It is important that we understand that our young men and women are people first, students second, and athletes third. We emphasize that athletics is a privilege, not a right, and participation must reflect commitment, compliance, and character. Our athletes embody the motto: Champions by Choice – Excellence by Design, recognizing that achievement comes from intentional effort, discipline, and the choice to uphold our standards of excellence.
WESTSIDE WINNING WAY FOR STUDENT ATHLETES - DEFINED
A student athlete is defined as all young men and women who represent a team that engages in interscholastic competition, student managers, statisticians and all other students who may assist a team. All are expected to live up to the Champions by Choice – Excellence by Design philosophy.

All students who wish to participate in Athletics at Westside High School must have a current physical on file. Physicals must be updated each year. The form is in the link below:

All students must also have current insurance to participate in athletics. Bibb County offers supplemental accidental insurance. Information is provided below along with the insurance form.
