
Mr.
Paschal has been in education since 1996, following a successful
15-year career in Industrial Safety & Maintenance. During 24 years of continuous service in Bibb County, he was Westside's STAR Teacher in 2021-2022, represented Westside as a finalist for Bibb County's Teacher of the Year in 2008-2009, served on the
Superintendent's Advisory Council, and held a seat on the BCSD Technology Committee. In 2018, Mr. Paschal was among the first Bibb County teachers selected for the distinguished "STEM Fellows" cohort. He is classified as "Expert" in the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Program and is a BCSD Charter Recipient
of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certifications. Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC)
Certifications include: STEM Education [FLD878], Engineering and Technology [FLD769], Computer Science [FLD882], Broad Field Science [FLD748], Science [FLD852], Language Arts [FLD853], and Social Science [FLD854]. Specialized teaching credentials include: ITEEA Industry Certification, Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering Instruction certifications, and College Board Advanced Placement certification.
In 1999, Mr. Paschal began his tenure at Westside with the Science Department, teaching a full range of life sciences, physical sciences, scientific research, and environmental science courses, including Advanced Placement (AP) levels. Starting with the 2013-14 school year, he was named as Westside's STEM Coordinator under the School Improvement Grant (SIG). In August 2016, he assumed responsibilities as CTAE's Engineering & Technology Pathway Instructor, guiding Westside's Engineering & Technology Program to receipt of International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) Industry Certification in May 2017. Mr. Paschal is the only Bibb County teacher who has received ITEEA Industry Certification. Starting with the 2021-2022 school year, Mr. Paschal moved from Engineering & Technology to Westside's Science Department for continued development of STEM collaborative teaching as an important part of Westside's curriculum.
As Team Leader of Westside's Public Relations & Communication Team, Mr. Paschal manages Westside's social media channels, digital marquee, SharePoint Reference Library, and creates multimedia presentations along with graphic designs used at Westside, including Team logos. He also serves on numerous other Westside Teams including: Leadership, Safety & Crisis Response, First Responders, PSAT||SAT Task Force, and P.B.I.S, as well as serving as a Mentor for the Teacher Support Coach (TSC) program.
